Once Thanksgiving was over, I started thinking about Christmas cards for this year. I usually just get the cheapest cards I can get at WalMart, but this year I came across a promotion that Shutterfly is doing where we can get 50 free cards just for writing about our favorite card on our blog! If you have a blog and want to get some free Christmas cards, you should check it out.
I LOVE getting photo cards from our friends because I get to see how big their kids are getting, how much they've changed, and to see any new additions to the family. We've sent out a photo for Christmas every year we've been married starting with a wedding picture that first Christmas. The next year was us is our first apartment and the following year we got to announce the birth of our daughter with our photo card! Since we had December and January babies, both of the years our kids were born, we combined our Christmas cards with birth announcements and made it a New Year's card.
I'm so excited about this promotion because Shutterfly has soooo many cute options for cards. Go here to check out their new collection of Christmas cards. I love that they have so many options for cards that say "Merry Christmas" since Christ is the reason for the season. They also have traditional cards and more modern styles too so there's something for everyone. It's going to be hard to pick! I'm taking the kids' Christmas picture this Friday, so I guess the card I decide will depend on what kind of pictures I get. I think this is my favorite for now but that may change:

Since we took a family picture for Junior's birth announcement, we decided to just take the kids this year since we haven't really changed. :)
I love the fact that they have so many options for cards that you can put more than one picture on. We used this one for Junior's birth announcements and it was nice to not just have one picture.

In case you're looking for gift ideas, you can make a photo calender with your own personal pictures for each month. My friend did this for her mom and it was really cute! And the same friend also made me an awesome photo book for my birthday with our own pictures that was a complete surprise!
Now I just have to get the kids (and my camera) to cooperate so I can get great pictures! Have fun making your Christmas cards!
